Kaiser Permanente Parking Structure, San Rafael

This project consisted of demolition of a portion of the existing garage and replacing it with a new addition that included 117,600 sq.ft. and provides 308 new stalls. The height and materials of the new structure matches the South section of the existing garage. The new garage structure also extends north and required removal of approximately 8,123 c.y. of soil and rock. The project also consisted of seismically upgrading the remaining 117,600 sq.ft. of the southern portion of the existing garage. The work occured on an occupied and fully operational medical center site that maintains 24/7 hospital services.
