CORPORATE PHILANTHROPY

Mission

To inspire a culture of caring by strengthening and empowering our local communities.

Goals

Support our 1) local communities, 2) education, and 3) the environment with sweat equity, money, and passion.

Values

Celebrate diversity, encourage community outreach, and champion educational and cultural initiatives.

Local engagement

We’re local builders, not a national firm. Because we live where we build, our success is directly connected to our community’s success. We dig deep to encourage participation by local talent. Our team has created outreach programs in a wide range of areas, from engaging community-based business enterprises to training and mentorship programs for local youth in the construction trades. Our depth of resources includes established partnerships with diverse trade partners with whom we regularly collaborate.

Richmond Build

RichmondBUILD Pre-apprenticeship Construction Skills and Green Jobs Training Academy was first developed to create employment and career opportunities for Richmond residents and also to implement a strategy for reducing violence in our community. Overaa Construction proudly supports the RichmondBUILD program. NBC 11 News reports on the difference that was made for one local teen hired through RichmondBUILD to work for Overaa during the summer.

Kennedy Park Rebuild

Overaa volunteers spend the day rebuilding Richmond’s Kennedy Park.

Backpack Drive

Overaa volunteers gather and distribute school supplies for local schools.
