Design and construction of a cast-in-place expansion to an existing parking structure. In addition to developing a design that addressed massing sensitivities to the adjacent residential areas, Overaa developed a two-phased approach that allowed the public to park in the existing structure during construction. The new 525,500 SF, nine-level (1-below grade) parking structure includes three elevators and 1,500 stalls. The site plan was based on principles of new urbanism community planning. It integrates a highly complex network of vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian circulation, as well as existing site features, diverse street sections, and current building codes to reach a density level that can sustain a community mixed-use development.
