This new LEED Silver building for the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital at Mather, CA is adjacent to the existing Building 728, Physical Therapy Facility.
The entire facility totals approximately 12,930 gross square feet with a 1,197 square feet fenced open area courtyard. Project site improvements include parking lots, sidewalks, landscaping and security features. The foundation and roof deck are designed to support one additional floor to allow for future expansion of the facility. Facility shall house approximately 16 patients in a combination of single and double secure patient rooms. Facility is designed for extended patient stays and includes all required administrative, support and service areas.
The design incorporates site improvements including parking lot demolition and utility infrastructure rerouting and hook-up.
Vehicular access will be provided to the Behavioral Health Unit for patient drop and service areas. Walk-in patients will access the building through Zone 1 that includes an entry vestibule with sallyport, interview room and public restroom before entering the controlled areas of the building. Additional paved walkways shall be provided to/from exit doors.
