The lease-leaseback project was a seismic correction and renovation of an existing 500,000 SF parking structure at De Anza College. The structure is a four-level, cast-in-place/precast concrete structure. Overaa provided preconstruction services and a phased approach to construction, allowing maximized usage of the garage to faculty and students.
The seismic upgrade was accomplished by removing portions of the existing foundations, adding enlarged foundations, shear walls and tie-beams which required drilling 30,000 holes to receive reinforcing. The scope also included upgrades to the exterior and interior of the structure such as a complete recaulking, exterior paint, signage, striping, light fixture replacement/upgrade, elevator controls/finishes upgrades, wood handrail restoration and site work.
