Chevron Refinery Building 71 Seismic Upgrade

The Technology Center supports alternative fuel research and product improvements for the Richmond campus. Building 71 is composed of three separate structures with seismic isolation joints between them. The project includes a voluntary strengthening of existing concrete walls and columns in addition to new exterior concrete buttresses supported on new deep pile foundations. Shotcrete wall overlays, steel channel collectors, micro piles, and grade beam strengthening at various locations as well as ADA upgrades are also part of the scope.
