This maintenance and shop building is a critical facility. The new high performance building is a combination of preengineered metal building shell along with custom structural elements, foundation support systems, shop spaces and offices to accommodate our client’s fabrication, repair and maintenance needs in-house.
The building program includes a total of 105,500 SF of space with 40,000 SF dedicated to offices, locker rooms, conference rooms and support spaces; and 65,000 SF of space for machine, boiler, instrumentation and electrical shops as well as a central tool room. There are three bridge cranes and number of jib cranes to assist with moving heavier materials inside the facilities and between shop spaces as needed to keep equipment operating efficiently and safely.
Overaa provided extensive preconstruction and planning services including multiple budgets, budget analysis, constructability, material and equipment selection and procurement plans, specialty subcontractor bidding, interviewing and selection, soil stabilization investigation and options as well as program analysis and site utilization/logistics planning. We partnered with our client to review scopes. Our team also engaged in cost and schedule risk analysis to further increase predictability of what will be delivered by the team on time and within budget.
