Miner's Ranch Water Treatment Plant Improvements

Miners Ranch Water Treatment Plant is in Butte County, California near the Miners Ranch Dam that separates Miners Ranch Reservoir from Lake Oroville.  Serving approximately 6,700 households, the plant needed to be upgraded to increase capacity and meet stringent drinking water regulations. Overaa served as design build contractor for the Progressive Design-Build Project to upgrade and expand the plant. The project improvements expand treatment capacity from 14 to 21 MGD and include modifications to the raw water pump station with a new feed pump and in-line jet mixing system, addition of new adsorption clarifiers for pretreatment, constructing deep bed sand filters with coupled new air scouring systems, expansion of solids handling facilities with new mechanical dewatering processes, addition of a new backwash water and high service pump stations, installing of a new chlorine gas scrubber, providing a new treated water clearwell and other miscellaneous facilities upgrades. It is anticipated that the 21 MGD design capacity will satisfy projected water demands for the next 30 years.
