The new award-winning Hillview Middle School consisted of building six new, two-story school buildings and renovation/addition to one existing building. The classrooms are designed to support collaborative learning in all studies: science, industrial technology, computer, music, choir, and broadcast studio. The second phase was demolition of the existing school and the construction of a new synthetic turf sports field and recreation areas in their place, in addition to sitework and landscaping across the 9-acre campus. The 88,000 SF of new construction building includes a new library, state-of-the-art performing arts space, administration building, classrooms, covered walkways, gymnasium, new kitchen, and solar panel system. BIM was used to evaluate costs with subcontractors on M/E/P and structural systems. The project is CHPS verified.
