UC Davis Kemper Hall Clean Room

Project Details

The Kemper Hall Lab project consists of converting a laboratory into a high tech 60,000 SF Clean Room Lab Hub with specialty equipment. The CM/GC contract invited Overaa to collaborate with UCD and designer in the early phase process to assist with alternative design suggestions for early bid package breakout and initial start of construction phasing. The additional phases include professional tool hook up for clean room processes.
The overall scope includes the installation of 14 non-hazardous gas lines, and 8 hazardous gas lines, all with specialty fabricated stainless steel piping. Overaa also installed a process chilled water system with copper piping, as well as three new exhaust ducting systems. All of these systems face the typical laboratory constraints on space, and have the potential to conflict heavily with existing systems already in the building, hence the alternative design/assist we are providing. We also installed a Toxic Gas Management system which will control the distribution of the hazardous gases, and monitor the exhaust systems and also provided commissioning services on all of these systems.
