University of California, Berkeley – Durant Student Apartments

Project Details

Design and construction of a four-story student housing complex on a very tight urban site. The structure is immediately adjacent to the Hayward Fault and was designed to exceed the seismic standards of the current building codes. Building exteriors include architectural features that provide an attractive enhancement to the surrounding historic hillside district. Carefully constructed with a watertight shell and soundproofing, the building incorporates all the latest technology.

  • On behalf of Univ of CA-Capital Projects, I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation and gratitude for your exceptional performance and on-time completion of the above referenced projects. Both projects were very difficult, multi-phased, and required working in and around a highly active and occupied athletic facility. Both projects had fixed completion dates requiring a high level of attention to schedule planning and execution. Ben and Justin managed the on-site activities over the course of this project with an extraordinarily high level of conscientiousness, responsiveness, effort and flexibility. We were most impressed with their commitment to quality, workmanship, and coordinated scheduling obligations. Due to their efforts, the 2009 Cal Football season can proceed with success.
