On May 2, 2018, Overaa Construction broke ground on the much anticipated Zone 7 Water Agency’s Ozonation Project at the Del Valle Water Treatment Plant in Livermore, California. The purpose of the ozonation project is to help maintain high-quality water by disinfecting and treating cyanotoxins. The scope of work will include the construction of new facilities including an ozone generation building, contactor structure, new chemical facilities and storage, and a new utility water pump station. The project has been in the planning stages for 15 years. Planning and design costs are $3.5 million and construction and construction management costs are estimated to be $45 million. The project is expected to be completed by March 2020.
