Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) awarded the San Jose Mineta International Airport’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Facility (SJC ARFF) the National Merit Award for the Aviation category, 2023. The progressive design build project was completed one month early, on budget, with a perfect safety record. The multi-stakeholder project is the first on the West Coast to serve two separate firefighting functions within one building. The team included Overaa Construction as the general contractor, MarJang Architecture as the Lead Design Architect, and Ten Over Studio as the the Architect of Record and Landscape Architect.
