Our teams may log more than 100,000 craft hours on a single project and more than 800,000 craft hours company-wide each year. Our industry-leading EMR reflects the strength of our safety culture and our commitment to continuous improvement.

Overaa has earned the CEA Safety Award for 20 consecutive years and the CEA President Safety Award 10 times since 2007. Our teams have also been recognized for safe work in highly regulated refinery and laboratory environments, where rigorous protocols are essential.

Behind every project is a dedicated team of full-time safety professionals who lead training, field support, oversight, and continuous improvement of our company-wide safety program. Every person on the jobsite is authorized to enforce our safety policy and procedures.  Overaa’s in-house program — Overaa Continuous Improvement (OCI) — addresses safety training for project management, superintendents, forepersons and craft personnel. It is provided on-site and at headquarters training facilities by our safety personnel or outside experts. Topics are tailored to Cal/OSHA regulations, job site tasks, stakeholder goals, and more. Instruction is available in English and Spanish.

SAFETY AUDIT

Our Safety Engineers conduct regular 100-point jobsite audits using Construction Jobsite Survey Reports (CJSR), providing teams with immediate feedback and opportunities for corrective action. In 2025, our Safety Engineers made 800+ jobsite visits, with an average safety audit score of 95%.

DAILY HUDDLES

Each morning, crews review the day’s work, identify potential hazards, and confirm the steps needed to perform each task safely. Teams also share lessons learned from other jobsites and begin the day with Stretch & Flex.
