I started my career at Overaa as a project engineer and progressed from project manager to project executive to vice president. At every stage, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry and take on new challenges. Construction is demanding and fast-paced, but I can’t think of a more rewarding career—or a better place to build one.

I joined Overaa as a project engineer right out of college and was fortunate to have great mentors and opportunities to take on some really interesting projects. Over the years, I was able to bring that hands-on field experience into estimating, where I found that I especially love figuring out challenging structural concrete projects. I truly believe there’s no company in California that does this kind of work better than Overaa. These days, one of my favorite things is driving around the Bay Area with my grandkids and pointing out the projects I’ve had a hand in building. There’s a real sense of pride in knowing that the work I did will be here for generations.

Fresh out of Cal Poly’s Construction Management program, I joined Overaa because I liked that it wasn’t so big or bureaucratic—I felt like I wouldn’t just be a cog in the wheel. Construction takes grit, tenacity, and humility. Even today, when I feel overwhelmed by a thousand problems to solve, I go out to a jobsite.
