Congressman John Garamendi, California’s 8th District representative, presented Overaa Construction with a Congressional Commendation honoring their 117 years in operation at the Richmond Civic Center, California, December 15, 2023. Jerry Overaa, Chairman of Overaa Construction, accepted the award on behalf of the company, fittingly, in a building built by Overaa. The award honored Overaa Construction for “not only elevating the physical landscape of our region but also positively impacting the lives of those residing within it.” It recognized Overaa’s “tireless efforts to improve our collective future and unwavering commitment to innovation, safety, and community engagement.” Furthermore, it recognized Overaa as one of the largest employers in Contra Costa County, providing 400+ jobs that continue to be critical to Richmond’s growth and economic stability.
