Overaa offers excellent opportunities for career growth. Employees grow into - and within - leadership positions including superintendent, foreman, project manager, project engineer, estimator, and accountant. In fact, nearly all of key executive positions, including President and Vice Presidents, are "home grown" talent who rose through the ranks.
Our corporate headquarters feature 35,000 sf of offices:
- Training center
- An on-site fitness facility
Our seven acre production and storage yard includes:
- A cabinet shop
- Concrete form fabrication
- Welding bay
- Tool and equipment maintenance and rental operation to support our field operations
Overaa has a history of long-term, committed employment, as evidenced by our average length of employment - 11 years. By effectively upholding the business family structure, Overaa gained a priceless attribute from our very own employees - loyalty. Almost half of our staff are lifelong employees. Our company t-shirts speak to the core of Overaa culture: "Our People Are Our Best Tools".
We believe in working hard and playing hard. We never miss the opportunity to celebrate: the annual family picnic, jobsite milestone achievement barbeques, holiday and birthday parties. We have a very popular incentive awards program and many friendly competitions to earn coveted swag. An informal atmosphere at work leads to after hour gatherings: friendly basketball games at lunch in our gym, bike rides after work, bowling parties and department get-togethers.
Overaa strives to employ the continued advancements in Construction Technology to provide outstanding service to our clients and partners. A wide variety of technology solutions are used at Overaa to maintain a high standard of operational excellence, including BIM solutions, web-based Preconstruction processes, a fully integrated Accounting and Project Management system, and a network built for high-speed connectivity and reliability.
Overaa has had the good fortune over the years to succeed and thrive in our community. We are dedicated to giving back to the community and the environment. For example, Overaa employees have been the #1 sponsor for Multiple Sclerosis Society. Overaa sponsors an amazing program called Making Waves – a tutoring program serving disadvantaged Richmond youth.
One of our other passions is helping preserve open land in the Bay Area with our support of Muir Heritage Land Trust. Many other local causes receive our goodwill: Junior Achievement, Richmond Rescue Mission, and local elementary through college education programs.
Overaa is committed to education and career development.
The Overaa Continuous Improvement (OCI) program underpins the company philosophy of individual growth and continuous learning. The goal of the OCI training is to enhance and strengthen individual skills, train future leaders, foster teamwork and improve the operations processes of our organization, so that we can continue to successfully compete in an increasingly complex construction market.
Our training program offers both skill training and education curricula. Courses include management training such as leadership, time management, negotiations, and estimating as well as hands-on skill building including the latest in software, layout and leveling, advanced blueprint reading, and scheduling, etc. We offer tuition reimbursement for selected coursework.
