Description

The proposed Project improvements include but
are not limited to the following major elements:
• Installation of a truck offloading station and
modifications to an existing utility station
for compressed-air assisted gravity
discharge of ferric chloride (FC) solution of
approximately 40% strength by volume.
• Installation of a FC storage facility inside of
existing Primary Sedimentation Tank 4
(PST 4), including 4 ASME RTP-1 stamped
and certified FRP 16,000-gallon storage
tanks.
• Installation of CPVC piping to convey FC
from truck unloading station to the tanks,
from the tanks to the existing chemical feed
pumps, and from the pumps to two injection
points: the Mixed Sludge lines and the
Primary Influent Channel.
• Installation of a chemical drainage piping
system connected to the existing drain
system for PST4 and the truck offloading
station.
• Installation of tank level reading
instruments, high-high floats and alarm
beacons, area lights, emergency shower and
eye wash stations, and remote operated
motor-controlled valves at inlet and outlet
of each tank to monitor and control filling
and drawing operation
