A. Contractor shall provide complete submittals for all equipment and components to be installed on the
project. Contractor shall obtain CalVet approval prior to ordering parts and materials for this project.
B. Contractor shall replace existing backwash pump and motor connect pump controls specific to the roughing
filter surface wash system.
C. Contractor shall replace ten (10) electrically actuated solenoid valves on the roughing filter backwash piping
D. Contractor shall flush all backwash and surface wash piping.
E. Contractor shall provide new components, wiring, etc., and rework backwash controls in order to provide a
fully automated backwash system for the roughing filter system. Contractor shall ensure the capability of a
manual override option.
F. Contractor shall coordinate settings including backwash cycle duration, etc., with the Plant Operators and
adjust settings as required for optimum operation. Manual controls shall be located in Control Panel located
adjacent to the physical location of the roughing filters.
G. Contractor shall integrate the backwash controls into existing SCADA system with readout in the control
room inside the water treatment building.
H. Contractor shall provide an operations and maintenance manual with control diagram, detail of procedures
for adjustments, and data sheets for newly installed components.
I. Contractor shall provide up to 8 hours of staff training on new system and its operation.
J. Contractor shall warrant all parts and installation for one (1) year from completion of project.
