The project includes the construction of a three-story, 47,200 SF replacement campus on the occupied campus. The scope of work includes administration offices, library, fifteen classrooms which includes science and art spaces, gymnasium with stage, cafeteria and kitchen, restrooms and associated site work. Overaa’s preconstruction team provided a budget estimate based on 75% CD’s to gauge costs. As design was finalized, the GMP confirmed a higher budget. Through the coordination of the design team, subcontractors and District, Overaa’s preconstruction team worked towards an acceptable design within the District’s budget. This success was attributed from an extensive value engineering listings by identifying cost savings opportunities and enhancement options totaling $8.2M while preserving the District’s original program. A log of ideas were evaluated and majority of the options identified were approved by the District and design team.
