Design-build LEED Silver project consisting of the construction of multiple buildings on a congested 30-acre site. The new buildings included the Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC), Army Reserve Regional Readiness Sustainment Command Headquarters (RRSC), Fitness Center, Organizational Maintenance Shop (OMS) Facility, and UNIT/UHS Storage Building. All together, new construction totaled 279,000 SF. During preconstruction, we collaborated with the team to identify solutions that optimized space and reduced costs. The team consolidated the buildings from six buildings (originally requested by USACE) to three. This revised design not only helped reduce construction cost, but also provided for more open space around the buildings. Overaa self-performed all the structural concrete foundations, concrete slab on grade and concrete slab on metal deck work on this project, as well as miscellaneous rough and finish carpentry work.
