Overaa Construction recently joined the San Mateo-Foster City Elementary School District officials along with Foster City officials to celebrate groundbreaking of a new $30M elementary school in Foster City. The school is the District’s first new school built in more than 25 years. The new 36,510 SF campus will relieve overcrowding in the current elementary school within the San Mateo-Foster City School District. The new campus will accommodate approximately 425, K-5 students and will include 16 classrooms, a classroom for the District’s before and after school fee-based Annex Program, a multipurpose room, library/media center, administration building, smaller rooms for support services, and approximately 75 onsite surface parking spaces. The school was designed by HMC Architects with broad community input over the last three years to fit with the surrounding neighborhood. Construction is expected to last about 18 months.
