Seismic retrofit included driving 30 pipe piles, 115-feet long and 6-feet in diameter, through the pier and bay mud. We used a special vibratory pile driving hammer to decrease loud pounding noises typically associated with pile driving. This alternative reduced noise pollution and caused less stress to aquatic life (and Giants fans in the Ball Park across the street!).
