Estimators

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
• Perform estimating functions applicable to selected “bid” projects and/or business development requirements
• Attend all pre-bid job walks for projects on bid schedule
• Review, process and integrate all cost information into estimating (job cost) database. Includes job site visits of ongoing projects to verify “in field” approach vs. “estimated” approach
• Review and adjust subcontractor database (~3000 businesses) to current company needs and direction. Consult and interact with selected subcontractors to develop competitive pricing and applicable scopes of work
• Review project plan and specifications
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and material pricing
• Compare competitive bids
• Review quotes and estimates with the Project Manager
• Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawing to subcontractors
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
• Perform post-bid buyouts

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
• Working knowledge of construction costs and principles

 

Project Managers

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Project Managers (PMs) are responsible for the planning and management of projects, including scheduling, estimating, cost control, documentation control and jobsite production. Project Managers are members of the estimating/bidding teams and work directly with the Superintendent and Owners on assigned projects.

Qualifications:
• Proven expertise at managing all aspects of a construction project
• Ability to lead and direct one or more project team
• Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently
• Self-directed and self-motivated
• Responsible to maintain and develop both new and existing customer relationships

 

Superintendents

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
•"Hands-on" knowledge of building systems, Manage and schedule subcontractors, Ability to manage self-performed work to a budget, Prepare, maintain and manage job schedule, Maintain a safe workplace, Strong sense of urgency - bring in projects on time and on budget, Review all drawings, specifications and subcontractor submittals, Assure work quality; set standards for quality control, Other responsibilities as required

Qualifications:
• Field construction experience at supervisory level

• Basic scheduling skills

• Able to supervise and manage self-performed work

• Excellent people skills – effective communicator

• Knowledge of OSHA laws plus excellent safety record

 

Project Assistants

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Project Assistants (PAs) are key member of the Project Team and provide critical support to the planning and management of their projects in a wide range of activities as assigned by the Project Manager or Supervisor. Duties include inputting correspondence, submittals, and job startup, RFI's and change orders, in addition to general administrative functions. Project Assistants may be assigned to either the project field office and or the main office, depending on specific assignments.

Qualifications:
• High level or professionalism
• Prior experience in construction administration for a general contractor
• Proficient in office software applications, particularly Microsoft Office, and project management software; Prolog a plus
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Self – starter who takes initiative
• Detail oriented and well organized

 

Project Engineers

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Project Engineers are responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in the planning, management and administration of projects including project scheduling, shop drawing and submittal review, estimating and jobsite visits. Project Engineers may be assigned to either the project field office and or the main office, depending on specific assignments.

Qualifications:
• Computer literacy, with proven ability to learn and use basic computer tools on a regular basis.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Field experience, and/or the desire to work in a field environment to help build the job.
• Ability to function as a team member in a fast-paced environment.

 

Project Accountant

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
This position requires ability to perform all project-related accounting tasks, from budget setup through subcontract and change order management to project closeout, for multiple projects ranging from $5M to $40M.

Qualifications:
•Education – Bachelors degree in Business/Accounting preferred; or equivalent work experience

•Experience – Five years increasingly responsible recent experience in accounting positions in the construction industry; two years experience as project accountant for a general contractor.

Technical skills:
•Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook); construction project management software (Prolog Manager preferred); construction accounting software (Dexter+Chaney Forefront preferred). Working knowledge of Crystal Reports a plus.
•Must have general construction knowledge as it relates to accounting (AIA documents, lien laws, percent complete billing, preliminary notice and lien waiver requirements)
•Must have good organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage time effectively while handling multiple projects

Human relations skills:

•Must work well with others
•Clear, effective communication skills
•Ability to give and take direction
•Ability to work well independently
