Overaa has had the good fortune over the years to succeed and thrive in our community. We are dedicated to giving back to the community and the environment. In particular, we sponsor an amazing program called
Making Waves – a tutoring program serving disadvantaged Richmond youth. One of our other passions is helping preserve open land in the Bay Area with our support of
Muir Heritage Land Trust.
Many other causes receive our goodwill: Junior Achievement, Richmond Rescue Mission, and local elementary through college education programs.
“Overaa is a real Bay Area success story. Their presence can be seen in almost every major city in the Bay Area. They're incredibly well-respected for playing an integral role in the positive growth and development of our community. And they're well known for their corporate philanthropy towards issues that are important to local communities such as youth development and civic empowerment.”
~ John Gioia, Contra Costa County Supervisor

Boy Scouts of America Salute Jerry Overaa
The 28th Annual Construction Industry Lunch-O-Ree of the Boy Scouts of America honored one of our very own, Jerry Overaa. This benefit, put on by the San Francisco Bay Area Council, seeks to congratulate community leaders in the local region. Thousands gathered, including Mark Curtis of KTVU News, at the renowned San Francisco Marriott to show their support and applaud Jerry\'s efforts to better the community.
A former Boy Scout himself, Jerry is a hands-on dynamic Bay Area community member. With deliberate intention, Jerry directs his personal time and resources-and his company's time and resources-toward various leadership activities in the community. His spirit of goodwill and enthusiasm are contagious as his example encourages his fellow workers and peers to actively participate in community and industry endeavors.
The luncheon included various speeches from noteworthy advocates of the Boy Scouts of America. A consistent thread throughout the program was the positive influence that the Boy Scouts give to young people of all different backgrounds by providing them with the building blocks of character development. Without a word the message was clearly received by an audience as diverse as the Boy Scouts. Finally, Jerry gave an acceptance speech that rounded out the luncheon by drawing a correlation between the construction industry and the Boys Scouts of America.
In coordination with the event, we, too, salute Jerry and his significant contribution of time and talent to the construction industry and the community.
